Bhubaneswar, Jan. 6 -- An auto-rickshaw carrying schoolchildren overturned on Tuesday near Balada locality, close to Mangalpur under Dasarathpur police limits in Jajpur district. The incident occurred while the auto was returning students from a local school.

There were seven to eight children in the vehicle at the time of the fatal accident.

According to sources, four of the children sustained serious injuries and were initially taken to a hospital in Dasarathpur for emergency care. Later, they were admitted to Jajpur district headquarters hospital (DHH) for further treatment. The auto driver was also injured and is receiving medical attention.
