Bhubaneswar, Dec. 26 -- As the BJP steps up preparations for the Assam Assembly elections due early next year, BJP National Working President Nitin Nabin on Friday attended the party's state executive and core committee meetings at Kalakshetra in Guwahati, signalling a renewed organisational push in the state.

On his first visit to Assam after assuming charge, Nitin Nabin was accorded a warm reception at Guwahati airport. He was received by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, BJP's Assam election in-charge Baijayant Panda, and several senior party leaders, reflecting the importance of the visit in the run-up to the polls.
