Puri, Aug. 24 -- Days after the Puri district administration razed structures adjacent to the 'Meghnad Pacheri' (boundary wall) of Puri Jagannath temple, a team of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) officials today surveyed the condition of the wall.

Steps will be taken to remove the structures adjacent to the shrine wall and restore its original form, said Arun Mallick, Superintending Archaeologist, who examined the condition of the wall. "Structures around the Meghnad Pacheri will be evicted and the wall's original form will be restored. The district administration then will continue with its developmental plans," said Mallick.
