Apollo Green Energy Ltd has announced plans to invest Rs 4,500 crore in Odisha to develop 1,000 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy projects, a move expected to create 3,000 direct and indirect jobs.

The proposal was unveiled on Wednesday during a high-level meeting chaired by Odisha's Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister, KV Singh Deo.

According to the available reports, the initiative will focus on solar power infrastructure, complemented by battery storage systems to store surplus electricity for use during peak demand periods.
