Bhubaneswar, Nov. 29 -- Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday asserted that Naxalism in India will be completely eradicated before the next all-India Director Generals of Police (DGsP)-Inspector Generals of Police (IGsP) conference. Shah made the statement while addressing the inaugural session of the three-day 60th DGsP/IGsP conference held in Raipur.

According to a Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) statement, Shah highlighted that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government has strengthened the security grid by constructing 586 fortified police stations over the past seven years. This has reduced the number of Naxal-affected districts from 126 in 2014 to just 11 today.
