Bhubaneswar, Jan. 10 -- Passengers had a narrow escape after an Ama Bus caught fire near Kalinga Studio Square in Bhubaneswar on Saturday, triggering panic among commuters. The incident occurred while the bus was in operation.

Sources said smoke was noticed emanating from the bus, prompting passengers to immediately alight from the vehicle. Their timely action helped prevent a major mishap. No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the fire broke out due to a short circuit in the bus. Soon after the incident, fire services personnel rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control.
