An 80-year-old woman from Kusabari village under Lakhnapur panchayat in Ambabhona block of Bargarh district has been allegedly declared dead in official records, resulting in the stoppage of her pension for the past three months.
The woman, Bedamati Nayak, is very much alive and continues to support her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren with the little pension she used to receive.
Speaking to reporters, she expressed her distress, saying, "Though I'm alive, I have been declared dead. As a result, I haven't received my pension for three months. I used to buy medicines with that money."
