Bhubaneswar, Nov. 18 -- A recent OTV report highlighting the lack of electricity in Subarnapur village under Dharakote block of Ganjam district triggered swift action from Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday, during District Collectors' conference held in Bhubaneswar.
The news report had shown children studying under lanterns and candles, underscoring the absence of basic amenities even 78 years after India's Independence.
Taking serious note of the matter during the key meeting with District Collectors today, the Chief Minister expressed deep concern and raised the issue pointedly. CM Majhi said it was unacceptable that a village still remains unelectrified for so many decades.
