Bhubaneswar, Jan. 7 -- The Balasore district administration on Wednesday swung into action after OTV highlighted the alleged violation of pollution control norms at the District Collector's office premises, where old trees were being indiscriminately felled for construction work. Following the news broadcast, the tree-cutting activity inside the Collectorate campus was stopped.
According to reports, several old and mature trees were being cut down within the Balasore District Collector's office premises, allegedly in violation of environmental and pollution control regulations. The trees were reportedly felled to facilitate ongoing construction activities.
