Bhubaneswar, Nov. 17 -- The Special Crime Unit arrested key drug peddler Sheikh Akbar during a recent anti-narcotics operation in the capital city Bhubaneswar, during which officials seized 400 grams of brown sugar worth Rs 40 lakh. The raid was carried out in Bhubaneswar based on specific intelligence inputs, revealing Akbar's involvement in an illegal narcotics network. Akbar, a resident of Sahadev Khunta in Balasore district, was apprehended at the spot, while his associate managed to escape during the operation. The action was initiated to dismantle an emerging drug supply chain and prevent further expansion of the racket.
