India, April 5 -- Rourkela, Odisha's renowned Steel City, is poised for a significant transformation aimed at enhancing its urban infrastructure and tourism appeal.

The plans follow after the Sundargarh district administration unveiled an ambitious plan to develop 27 tourism sites in the city, including several of the city, and the Odisha government's infra boost spanning hundreds of crores.

The initiative seeks to diversify Rourkela's industrial image by spotlighting its cultural, natural, and infrastructural assets with key projects, including the redevelopment of TISCO Pond and Durgapur Hill, as well as enhancements like the Panposh Railway Station upgrade and the construction of a suspension bridge at Vedvyas Dham.
