Bhubaneswar, Dec. 8 -- The Odisha Vigilance Directorate has intensified its statewide crackdown on corruption, with 20 police officials and employees caught red-handed while accepting bribes over the past 18 months. The data was presented by CM Mohan Majhi in a written reply in the Odisha Assembly, highlighting a sustained effort to curb graft across government departments.

According to official figures, a total of 271 government officials and employees were arrested in vigilance-related cases during this period. Vigilance Courts also recorded 174 convictions, reflecting a significant rise in successful prosecutions and judicial action against corruption.
