Bhubaneswar, Dec. 9 -- A 12-foot-long python was rescued on Monday after it became trapped in a fishing net during routine fishing activities in Chilika Lake, Odisha. The incident took place near Lambodharpur village, close to Balugaon, where local fishermen spotted the massive snake entangled in their net in the early hours.

According to the fishermen, the python weighed an estimated 40-50 kilograms. Startled by the unexpected catch, they promptly alerted the authorities. The reptile remained trapped in the net until officials reached the site.
