A 108 ambulance broke down while on its way to bring a patient in Dhenkanal district's Parjang block, at Gengutia on Sunday. The incident occurred when the vehicle, after picking up the patient, suddenly failed to restart.

Later, smoke reportedly billowed from it. The patient was eventually shifted to the hospital in another vehicle, while the ambulance remains stranded in the village in an immobile state.

This incident adds to the growing list of failures of the 108 ambulance service in Odisha.
