Bhubaneswar, Dec. 2 -- The rising number of student deaths inside the KIIT University campus has triggered an alarming wave of questions, fear and outrage. In just ten months, three students have died, with each incident exposing alleged gaps in the institution's vigilance, mental-health support and crisis-response systems.

The latest death of a first-year engineering (computer science) student, Rahul Yadav from Chhattisgarh, on November 30, whose mother had 'repeatedly warned' hostel authorities about his depression, has now pushed anger to a breaking point.
