India, Feb. 2 -- The unique ritual of 'Ratha Katha Anukula' took place at Lord Jagannath temple in Puri on Sunday, involving the ceremonial worship of robust timber (Dhaura Katha), signifying the beginning of traditional chariot construction for the upcoming Rath Yatra.

Notably, 101 pieces of timber, including Ashan and Dhaura wood, have been transported to Puri pilgrimage town from the forests of Nayagarh and Dasapalla in three trucks, carrying the legacy of craftsmanship.

Meanwhile, the sacred rituals for Ghosa Jatra have commenced in Puri, where preparations for the chariot construction ceremony are underway.
