Orissa, Feb. 26 -- Odisha government's annual budget in 2025 placed a strong emphasis on urban and rural development. A major highlight is the proposed 'New Bhubaneswar' at around Rs 408 crore earmarked for the development, inspired by Hyderabad's advanced infrastructure.

Additionally, an ambitious plan has been unveiled to transform 15 cities into five economic corridors, building on the 'Tri-City' structural vision. Chief Minister Mohan Majhi earlier emphasized, "The new Bhubaneswar will be developed with the same structural vision as Hyderabad," underlining urban development as a key priority.
