Hong Kong, Oct. 17 -- Last month was the first September to receive three million plus visitors to Japan, the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) said. Read More In total, 3.27 million visitors visited the country, 13.7% more than the same month last year. Most visitors were from East Asia, Europe, the U.S., Australia and the Middle East, JNTO said. In the same month, Japanese citizens who travelled abroad increased 15% to 1.4 million, exceeding one million outbound Japanese travellers for the fifth consecutive month, an 80% increase compared with pre-pandemic levels.
