Hong Kong, March 27 -- Hong Kong has announced a fresh HK$1 billion (US$129 million) rescue package to soften the blow of the coronavirus pandemic on airlines, airport tenants and staff.

Announced on March 23, the measures are a government waiver for air traffic control charges as well as parking and air bridge fees for idle passenger aircraft.

Airlines will receive a 40% reduction in passenger aircraft landing charges and relief measures for ramp handling, maintenance and airside vehicle-related fees, Hong Kong International Airport said in a statement.
