India, Nov. 7 -- Tarsame Mittal, the former manager of Assam's icon Zubeen Garg, appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Friday, nearly 50 days after the singer's death.

Mittal, who managed Garg's career for several years, is under investigation over alleged financial irregularities and the creation of a music institution in Garg's name without his direct involvement.

Mittal began working with Garg in 2002. By 2004, he was managing events for artists in Mumbai, including Sa Re Ga Ma Pa winner Devojit Saha.

He officially became Garg's manager around 2006-07 and later moved to Mumbai in 2014 to handle artists through his company, TM Management.
