Guwahati, Aug. 26 -- The United States has outlined plans to implement an additional 25% tariff on Indian products, set to take effect from August 27, 2025, as part of a broader trade escalation announced by President Donald Trump earlier this month.
In a draft order released on Monday, the Department of Homeland Security specified that the higher duties will apply to Indian goods "entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption" starting 12:01 am EDT on August 27.
