India, Dec. 18 -- Police in North Tripura have arrested three individuals in connection with the suicide of delivery boy Prasenjit Sarkar.

The accused were taken into custody from Assam's Sribhumi district, previously known as Karimganj, following continuous protests and mounting pressure from civil society groups.

The arrested have been identified as Sushmita Bhattacharjee, Sangeeta Bhattacharjee, and Sourav Bhattacharjee.

Police said the arrests were made late Wednesday night during a special operation based on specific intelligence inputs. Two other individuals linked to the case remain at large, and efforts to trace them have been intensified.
