India, Jan. 31 -- The CPI(M)'s tribal wing, Gana Mukti Parishad (GMP), announced on Saturday that it will contest the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC) elections. The party named the BJP as its main political opponent and Tipra Motha as a secondary rival.
At a press conference in Agartala, GMP general secretary Radha Charan Debbarma accused the BJP of reducing the limited autonomy the ADC enjoyed during the Left Front's tenure. He also alleged that Tipra Motha, a partner in the state government, is siding with the BJP on ADC-related issues.
