India, Feb. 16 -- Tipra Motha Party chief Pradyot Kishore Debbarman on Sunday asserted that his party is poised to form the government in the 2028 Tripura Assembly elections, amid signs of strain within the ruling alliance.

Addressing a party programme at South Hadrai Village Council, Debbarman said his party would capture power in 2028. Referring to claims by another party about winning control of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) in 2026, he said, "Bubagra will capture the Assembly in 2028."
