India, Nov. 15 -- He appreciated the Mizos for continuously cherishing and upholding their vibrant cultural heritage, while noting that some communities have gradually moved away from their ancestral traditions.

The Governor highlighted the pivotal role of tribal communities in India's freedom struggle and their collective resistance against colonial rule, transcending religious or tribal barriers.

He added that Mizoram also played a significant role in this historic movement.
