INDIA, Dec. 3 -- Security forces, acting on intelligence-based combing, cordon, and search operations, arrested three militants belonging to various proscribed outfits in Manipur for their alleged involvement in extortion activities, police reported on Wednesday.

Police stated that an active cadre of the outlawed United National Liberation Front-Koireng group (UNLF-K), identified as Laishram Pronanjit Singh alias Jit/Thondonba (25) of Sagolband Tera Loukrakpam Leikai, Imphal West district, was arrested from Uripok Yambem Leikai under Imphal Police Station, Imphal West. A mobile phone was seized from his possession.
