India, Dec. 29 -- Stakeholders of Tezpur University, including the Tezpur University Teachers' Association (TUTA), Tezpur University Non-Teaching Employees' Association (TUNTEA), and the student community, began a 24-hour hunger strike from 12:00 am to 11:59 pm on December 29.
The protest marks 100 days of continuous struggle over unresolved issues at the university.
The hunger strike highlights the stakeholders' frustration over the lack of accountability despite peaceful protests, memoranda, inquiries, and repeated appeals.
The university community says the ongoing situation reflects a system more focused on protecting individuals in power than on maintaining institutional integrity and safeguarding student interests.
