SHILLONG, May 21 -- As many as six criminal cases are currently pending against elected representatives in Meghalaya.

This was revealed in a status report submitted to the Meghalaya high court.

The Meghalaya high court reviewed the report during a hearing on Monday (May 20), which detailed the progress of these cases as of May 01, 2024.

The report indicates that six cases are ongoing.

Four of these cases are being heard by the district & sessions judge in East Khasi Hills district in Shillong, Meghalaya.

One case is before the district & sessions judge in West Jaintia Hills district in Jowai, and another is in the court of the district & sessions judge in West Garo Hills district in Tura, Meghalaya.
