India, Jan. 3 -- The Government of India has appointed senior IPS officer Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal, also known as SD Singh Jamwal, as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Arunachal Pradesh.
The appointment was made through an official order issued on January 2.
Jamwal is a 1995-batch Indian Police Service officer from the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre.
He has been transferred to Arunachal Pradesh from Ladakh, where he was serving as the Director General of Police.
He takes over from Anand Mohan, a 1994-batch AGMUT cadre IPS officer who was appointed as Arunachal Pradesh's DGP in June 2023 and assumed office the following month.
