GUWAHATI, March 29 -- Damp conditions are likely to persist for residents of Northeast, as a cyclonic circulation has formed over Assam, promising significant rainfall over Northeast states in the coming days.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), rainfall or snowfall in higher altitudes are expected, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning across various regions of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on Friday (March 29).

The situation is set to escalate further, with IMD forecasting moderate rainfall across most parts of Arunachal Pradesh and certain areas of Sikkim and other Northeast states from March 30 to April 03.
