Guwahati, Nov. 16 -- Sikkim has moved a step closer to securing uninterrupted connectivity as Roads and Bridges Minister N. B. Dahal announced that the state's key lifeline, NH-10, will now remain open round the clock.
Addressing an SKM party gathering in the Khamdong-Singtam constituency, the minister highlighted how Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang and Governor Om Prakash Mathur pushed the Centre to place NH-10 under the direct control of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
According to him, this administrative shift marks a major breakthrough for Sikkim, which has long struggled with frequent highway blockages and maintenance delays while the route was under West Bengal's jurisdiction.
