India, Jan. 13 -- National Youth Day 2026 was observed on January 12 to honour Swami Vivekananda's birth, inspire youth leadership, and encourage young people to take part in nation-building through events and activities across India.

Reaffirming the ideals of youth empowerment and character building envisioned by Swami Vivekananda, National Youth Day, celebrated to honour his birthday, was observed in Manipur on Monday.

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Manipuri Vibhag, organised the event at Banting Hall, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal. Thongam Biswajit Singh, MLA of Thongju Assembly Constituency, Imphal East, led the public in offering floral tributes to the portrait of Swami Vivekananda on the occasion.
