India, Dec. 18 -- The Nagaland government on Thursday officially notified 19 local languages and dialects spoken in the state for use in engaging Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) under the postal department.
The notification, issued by the Home Department, stated that identifying local languages aligns with postal department requirements for certifying language proficiency among GDS applicants.
The languages include Angami, Ao, Chang, Chakhesang, Konyak, Khiamniungan, Lotha, Phom, Pochury, Rengma, Sumi, Sangtam, Tikhir, Yimkhiung, Zeliang, Garo, Mikir, Kuki, and Kachari.
