Kohima, April 27 -- The Janata Dal United Nagaland (JD-U) has expressed its support for the Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI)'s decision to shut down businesses in protest against extortion by various Naga political groups.

In a press release, the JD(U) stated that the CNCCI's frustration is a clear indication of the dire situation faced by the business community and Naga society as a whole.

The JU-U added that a "mass uprising" was necessary to address the issue, as relying solely on the government and law enforcement has proven ineffective due to a lack of political will.
