India, Nov. 12 -- The Nagaland government accorded a state funeral to the adviser of information & public relations and soil & water conservation and five-time MLA Imokong L Imchen, who passed away on Tuesday, at his official residence in Kohima on Wednesday.
Scores of leaders of various political parties, colleagues, student bodies, and well-wishers gathered at his residence to pay their final respects to the veteran politician, remembering him as a statesman of integrity, vision, and deep commitment to the welfare of the Naga people.
In his message, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio described Imchen as a man of a clear mind, trustworthy, upright, and a seasoned politician, who was never afraid to speak out his mind.
