India, Jan. 26 -- The 16th National Voters' Day was celebrated across Nagaland on the theme 'My India, My Vote' on Sunday, with the state-level programme held in Kohima.
Addressing the gathering as the special guest in Kohima, Abhijit Sinha, Principal Secretary of the Home Department, said the day is observed to remind citizens of their responsibilities in a democracy and the importance of active participation in the electoral process.
He stated that Nagaland, along with the rest of the country, is celebrating the 16th National Voters' Day to reaffirm faith in democratic traditions.
Highlighting the importance of the voters' pledge, Sinha said it reflects the collective responsibility of citizens to uphold and strengthen democracy.
