India, Jan. 27 -- Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Monday said the state has remained one of the most peaceful in the country over the past several years, citing a stable law and order situation and the absence of major security concerns.
Delivering his Republic Day address at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat Plaza in Kohima, Rio said the latest Crime in India 2023 report released by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) has ranked Nagaland among the safest states in the country.
He attributed the sustained peace to proactive policing and continued efforts by the state police to strengthen enforcement capabilities and maintain public safety.
