India, Nov. 7 -- Following a relentless and intensive manhunt operation by the Kohima police, the prime accused in the October 31 attempted armed robbery case at the Chedema branch of the SBI surrendered at the North police station in Kohima on Thursday, the Kohima police PRO said in a release on Friday.
The sustained pressure applied by the Kohima police left the suspect, Vitoulu Domeh (35), with no escape route, compelling him to surrender, according to the release.He is now in the custody of the Kohima police.
The accused, who had terrorised bank staff using a pistol and a body-worn explosive device, was identified and pursued based on credible intelligence and public support.
