AIZAWL, Feb. 21 -- The Mizoram NGO Coordination Committee (NGOCC), on Wednesday (February 21), staged a massive demonstration opposing fencing of the India-Myanmar border and termination of the Free Movement Regime (FMR) between the two neighbouring countries.

The protests were led by Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP) president H Lalthianghlima along with NGOCC secretary Prof Malsawmliana.

During the protests, the Mizoram NGO Coordination Committee (NGOCC) also passed a resolution stating that the "Government of India's attempt to lift the Free Movement Regime (FMR) and close the Indo-Myanmar border is not acceptable".
