India, Jan. 7 -- Two-day Tlaizawng or cherry blossom paradise, a tourism event to boost economy and preserve natural resources, was opened by Mizoram assembly speaker Lalbiakzama at Phuaibuang village in Saitual district near the Manipur border on Tuesday, officials said.
The event was attended by state tourism minister Lalnghinglova Hmar, tourism department officials, community leaders from Phuaibuang and Luangpawn villages and a large number of visitors, they said.
Speaking on the occasion, Lalbiakzama said the event is being organised to attract tourists by harnessing the natural wealth and beauty of the land.
