Aizawl, June 3 -- Schools across 10 districts of Mizoram remained closed for the fourth consecutive day on Tuesday due to continuous heavy rainfall that has triggered widespread landslides, mudflows, rockfalls, and other rain-related disasters, officials said.

District authorities, with the exception of Saitual, ordered the closure of both government and private schools as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students. In a notification issued by Aizawl Deputy Commissioner and District Disaster Management Authority Chairman Lalhriatpuia, it was advised that all schools in Aizawl district suspend student attendance on June 3 due to the increased risk posed by the weather.
