India, Feb. 17 -- Mizoram's main opposition, the Mizo National Front (MNF), on Monday released its list of candidates for the upcoming elections to the Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC).

The schedule for the 19-member municipal corporation polls is yet to be announced by the Mizoram State Election Commission (SEC), though officials have indicated the elections may be held in April or May.

MNF president Zoramthanga unveiled the names of candidates for all 19 wards at a function held at Vanapa Hall in Aizawl. Addressing party workers and supporters, he expressed confidence that the MNF would retain control of the civic body.
