India, Sept. 23 -- Aizawl: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Tuesday reviewed the progress of highway projects undertaken by the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) in the state, officials said.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted the poor condition of several highways across Mizoram, citing potholes and surface damage. He stressed the importance of timely and proper maintenance within the contractor's liability period to ensure road safety and longevity.
Lalduhoma also directed that when new bypass roads are constructed, existing roads passing through towns should be properly handed over to the State Public Works Department (PWD) for maintenance.
