India, Nov. 10 -- Amid the bustle of Guwahati city, tucked along Dr. B. Baruah Road in Ulubari, stands a centre of calm, care, and confidence - the Tibetan Medical Clinic, Guwahati, a trusted branch of the world-renowned Men-Tsee-Khang, the Tibetan Medical and Astrological Institute of Dharamsala.
Men-Tsee-Khang was founded in 1916 under the patronage of the 13th Dalai Lama in Lhasa, Tibet, to institutionalize the traditional Tibetan medical and astrological science of Sowa-Rigpa. After the 1959 Tibetan upheaval, it was re-established in exile in India in March 1961 at Dharamsala under the guidance of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama to preserve and promote Tibetan medicine and astrology.
