SHILLONG, Aug. 10 -- The Meghalaya high court has scheduled August 14 for further proceedings in the ongoing case concerning the conduct of rituals inside the Mawjymbuin cave in Mawsynram.
The court expressed its preference for an amicable resolution between the local governing body, Dorbar Shnong, and the petitioner, Yatra, a registered organization that has organized pilgrimages to the cave for worshiping the Shiva Linga from 2011 to 2023.
In a recent hearing, the court noted the presence of the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police of East Khasi Hills District, as well as representatives of the respondents involved in the dispute.
