India, Nov. 7 -- Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma reaffirmed his government's dedication to protecting and promoting the state's rich cultural traditions on Thursday, while attending the 49th Wangala Festival, the annual post-harvest thanksgiving celebration of the Garo community.
At the event, also known as the "100 Drums Festival," Sangma expressed pride in Meghalaya's vibrant heritage and emphasized the government's ongoing efforts to preserve it.
He noted that several initiatives are underway to support research on indigenous cultures, focusing on documenting and promoting the traditional practices of various communities.
