India, Jan. 29 -- Authorities in Meghalaya's West Garo Hills have initiated a detailed investigation after a poster threatening the indigenous Garo community surfaced in Tura, allegedly linked to the global terror group ISIS-K.

Officials described the poster as a potential attempt to stir communal tension.

The notice was discovered Wednesday morning near Tura Law College at Araimile, coming amid heightened local sensitivities following the January 9 killing of ACHIK activist Dilseng Sangma in Goalgaon.

While security experts suggest the "ISIS-K" label could be misleading, the timing has prompted authorities to remain on high alert.
