India, Jan. 22 -- A special court under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act in Meghalaya's East Jaintia Hills district has sentenced a man to 25 years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting a minor.
The verdict concludes a case that began after the child went missing from Ladrymbai.
Special POCSO Judge B. Khriamn, who presided over the court at Khliehriat, found Kmenlang Sana, also known as Lang Sana, guilty under provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the POCSO Act relating to aggravated sexual assault on a child.
Along with the prison sentence, the court imposed a fine of Rs 30,000.
