India, Jan. 26 -- The Khasi Students' Union (KSU) has warned residents of border areas in Meghalaya against aiding the illegal entry of Bangladeshi nationals into the state, expressing concern over the involvement of some locals in cross-border infiltration.

KSU president Lambokstarwell Marngar said the nature of illegal activities along the border has changed, with reports suggesting that certain individuals from border communities are helping Bangladeshi nationals enter India illegally.

He noted that the issue is no longer limited to cross-border trade, but now involves organised assistance to infiltrators.
