Guwahati, May 20 -- The Coordination Committee on International Border (CCIB) of Meghalaya has called for an immediate postponement of the proposed joint inspection and survey of the border fencing project along the India-Bangladesh border.

The committee expressed its concerns in a letter sent to the Deputy Commissioner of East Jaintia Hills through HML Kynta, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) of West Jaintia Hills.

The CCIB opposed the joint inspection scheduled for May 20 and 21 in the villages of Amjalong, Kyrweng, and Jaliakhola, which fall under the Amlarem Sub-Division in West Jaintia Hills.
